Bow XT XTENDER Fence with the CSC SYS 50?

Has anyone tried the Bow XT XTENDER Fence with the CSC SYS 50? It attaches to the back of the existing fence of a portable table saw with track clamps. The CSC SYS 50 has some obstacles on the back of the fence but I was curious if anyone tried to make it work?

Thanks,
Johnny O

I ordered a 36" because someone on a Festool FB group had a pic with it installed, but I haven't tried it yet.  I primarily wanted the infeed support plus I'm going to try some Jessem guides on Bow fence.  Plus, I've got the Benchdogs miter fence.  I figure by the time I have all of this stuff hanging off the CSC Sys 50, though, I'm not going to have much cutting surface, haha...

Thank you so much for your reply. I also have the Benchdog UK miter fence (which is a great addition). The Bow fence looks promising for adding downward feather boards or like you said I am pretty sure my Jessem guides that I use on my router table should work just fine. Let me know if everything fits.  And yes it will be taking up additional real estate on an already small table, but for a lot of rips; I think it can make a great saw even better. Thanks again!

I'll try it out this weekend, will need to use both Bow and Benchdogs fences for separate projects.

Hi guys. I have the 36" Bow Xtender  fence, and it works great for in and outfeed with the downward featherboards on the CSC SYS 50. I'm curious if the JessEm Clear Cut TS Stock Guides fit in the top T-track? Has anyone tried this? I'm also ordering the router table JessEm Stock Guides for my small TSO router table for MFT. I guess these will fit no problem, but specifically wanted to know about the TS Stock Guides.

... or - has anyone made the TS Stock Guides work with another mounting method? I see there's an extruded fence option from Very Super Cool Tools which will take the TS Stock Guides (with minor modifications). Has anyone made this solution work?

Thanks!

What is the mounting method for the Bow XT Xtender?

Also which Benchdog UK miter fence is being referred to and what is the mounting for it?

Trying to decide what to go with though the extension supports on the Bow look intriguing. Ease of mounting will take priority. As long as they can easily be installed and removed I'm good.

The Bow Fence is attached with two dovetail clamps. Very easy on and off. Literally seconds. Excellent add-on to the CSC SYS 50.

Ha! Not at all... in fact i really want a setup with the JessEm guides. Just trying to figure out how to make it work!

jessem have three types of guides. one for the router, one for the cabinet table saw and another for a portable jobsite table saw.
i've seen people custom mount them all to a jobsite saw in all sorts of ways.
I was just looking which one makes the most sense. they seem to protrude and adjust differently. need something for narrow bevel rips (both sides beveled). i think for panel rips I can just use a pair of grr-rippers. kinda scary to push over a tilted blade with them

The Bow XT XTENDER Fence looks very interesting, it could probably be combined with the router version of the jessem guides? I attached the regular ones as attached, it works well. If you have any questions, I can provide measurements etc, but this really is pretty straight forward.

How do you guys find the stock fence on the SYS 50? Nice and rigid at all times?

My opinion isn't worth a real lot. I'm a new hobbyist and this is my first experience with a table saw. However, anything poorly  engineered gets my attention real quick - and I'd say the fence, whilst small, is quite well built and solid. It locks in at both ends quite well.

This seals the deal for me! I saw someone make something like this for the DeWalt contractor saw, and now that I see your ply fence - I'm sold!

I see you've attached your ply fence to the stock fence extrusion. I'm sure I could work it out, but if you could share your plans and attachment method - that'd be great!

Thanks for sharing your setup. I might try it with a melamine-faced ply!

I will, this for me is a prototype let's say, something I quickly set up to see if this works — and it does. I also want to move to a different material, possibly UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight), idea from this video:

You could create a solution that omits the original fence, but you have to clear the lever to loosen the fence (if you don't want to 3d print a different lever, or shorten the one pre-installed). The extruded aluminium the Jessem guide runs on is 50 mm wide, which blocks the lever if you don't position it further towards the blade (maybe the images I posted clear this up, I posted two close ups of the lever in both the locked and unlocked position).

This is to say I don't think it makes sense to *not* build the sacrificial fence on top of the existing one. You narrow your already not so great ability to cut wide material (by the thickness of the added fence, naturally), but since you have to accomodate the Jessem rail I don't see a different way. Sorry if this was too confusing.

Nope. All makes perfect sense. Thanks! Love the idea of UHMW Poly. I wonder if it would hold it's shape as a straight edge? Maybe a thinner piece than in the video with plenty of countersunk screws holding it to 18mm ply? Thicker again, but the best combination of wear resistance, friction, and true straight?

I started a thread for the fence / jessem topic:https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/...m-clear-cut-stock-guides/msg713481/#msg713481 and posted a second version.

My CSC SYS 50 is calibrated appropriately. I added the XT XTENDER 36 " fence but when I clamp this it falls out of square. Do others have this issue? I have tried to call the Bow office unsuccessfully.

Hi [member=81728]tool man[/member]  Did you resolve this?

I don't have the fence, but I am about to buy it and this is worrying.

Did you fit the stand-off plastic bits at the bottom of the fence profile where it sits on the table?

Edited to add: And does anyone else have this problem?
