Hi!

Just got my new Router "OF 1010 EBQ-Set + Box-OF-S 8/10x HW". It comes with a bitbox.
Before I got it I had problems finding out what it looked like as well for which bits that where included. Anyway here is a picture of it.

Welcome to the forum, Viking.

These are NAINA before anyone asks. But they are kinda neat.

Hi again!

I got the set here in Sweden. I think it's a promotional thing because I don't think you can get the set seperately. When it comes to the price (for curious people) it adds about $US250 to the price of a "OF1010 SET" which is a lot cheaper then buying them one by one.

That's great, another cool NAINA product the guys from the other side of the pond can laugh in our face with. This has really gotten old.
However when push comes to shove, we win again of course. We have the coolest NAIEU product.  [tongue]

Wow, cool.  Is there a separate part number for that?  Can it be purchased without the OF1010?  I know you said it can't, but perhaps there is other info?

I will be in Sweden, Denmark, etc in... umm.. three weeks.    [big grin]
My wife has already been apprised of the cities which have Festool dealers, and the NAINA goodies she might be smuggling bringing home.

Junkie,

Part number for the router bit set is 495478. The only thing that might be a problem for you is that they are 8mm shank. I'm not sure if the 8mm collet is in the US scope of delivery for the routers (and I'm too idle to check).

The OF1400 comes with the 8mm (plus the 1/4 and 1/2 inch) and  the OF1010 does also, both 1/4 and 8mm.  The round case id a very unique way of packaging the bits. Easy to carry and easy to see the bits. Very Nice!!!

I bought one of those sets a couple of years ago. It was said to be a limited time offer then, like the previous centrotec sets (the current one has its own partnumber and is supposed to stay available).
At the moment the box with the routerbits seems to be only available in conjunction with the purchase of a router (it doesn't show up on the "consumables"list like the single routerbits). But this will probably also mean that it will be offered seperately on auctionsites.

Like when I wanted to buy a protool sortainer1 which came as an extra with the purchase of a drill, but couldn't be ordered seperately. After talking to a sales rep I got one with the purchase of another protool tool, since I already had a drill; but later I saw them advertised on auctionsites (for less than the price of the tanos version)

I will buy OF1010 with Box-OF-S 8/10x HW but cant find anywhere what bits I get in that box. Could someone give me part numbers of the bits.
I know that on FOG someone has posted a close picture of that box but still I don't recognize all the bits.

That is always great news to hear, just one more item NOT to worry about.  [wink]

Yeah, I hear you. Once you start drinking the green koolaid it's tough.

Has anyone used Festool and Whiteside bits and can provide a comparison?

Festool bits and Whiteside bits both excellent quality.

Honestly I hope that Festool will bring that bit assortment to NA on at least a limited basis.  What an introduction to their bits it would be!

Peter

They have discontinued all but a few essential bits, but the good news is that LV will be making 8mm shanked bits from what I read although I don't believe they are officially announced yet.

See, now that would be a great thing to have available, they'd sell hundreds if not thousands if they make them available in the US. Heck, they'd probably sell one to each NA member of this board and that alone would cover the cost of bringing them to NA...

Really they should make different sets using the same case. Say one for making box and dovetail joints, one for laminate trimming and flush cutting, one for profile bits, etc. Then you could just go to Woodcraft or whatever and pick up the pack for whatever project you are working on. That'd be the greatest thing since sliced bread...

Seems like a dumb move that they don't bring them here :(
