I bought an RO90 sander and I was finding it impossible to mount the Delta sanding head. No matter what I did, the damn thing just wouldn't mount up properly. I even read the manual and resorted to YouTube videos that made it appear simple so I was feeling like a total moron that I couldn't make this work. So I called Festool support and spoke with Brad. We were having a hard time communicating with one another why this wasn't working but he patiently talked me through everything he could think of so he suggested I would have to send it in to be repaired. Obviously, I wasn't overjoyed at that prospect but was resigned to boxing it up. Bummer.
But a half hour later Brad called and explained that he had taken an RO90 apart to see why the Delta pad might not mount correctly and he discovered that there was one piece that could be mistakenly rotated 180 degrees that would cause the problem I was experiencing. Five minutes later, I was able to get the problem part spun 180 degrees and it now worked like a charm. Eureka!
I can't tell you how impressed I was that Brad cared enough to continue brainstorming my problem until he found my solution and he was totally apologetic that this part had been mistakenly rotated at the factory. Now that is what I call EXCELLENT service. If one of the moderators could forward this rave review to Brad (and his boss! [smile]) I would be most appreciative.
