Brand new TS75 45* angle is wrong - normal?

Hello all!

Our business just purchased the TS75 the other day and overall it seems like a great purchase.

However, I had to make a few very important 45* cuts and beveled the saw to do so. However, after setting it at 45* and cutting pieces and trying to join them, it seems that the saw was actually cutting at something more like 43* or so, even though I very carefully set it at 45*.

I looked into making some adjustments on the saw and noticed the two small hex screw stops in the face of the dark blue (or black?) bevel guide pieces. When doing this, I noticed that when I tried to bevel the saw all of the way out to 47*, it stopped at about 45.5*-46*, instead of its advertised limit of 47*.

This was obviously an easy fix, as I just brought the small hex screw stops out a bit and it would then bevel out to 47*.

However, this doesn't fix my issue that the saw seems to be cutting at 43* when it is set on the 45* mark. At this point, it seems that if I were to set it at 47*, it would then be cutting at 45*.

I know that you can adjust the little green arrow (pointing to the angle you're setting it at) a bit, but this is a very small adjustment window of about a degree or a degree and a half, so I am not sure if that will be enough to be able to fix the issue and set it to its true 45*.

Is there a solution to this? Is this normal? Do I need a new angle marks sticker? Am I missing something?

Any help or comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My TS-75 does not bevel to 47°. I checked the specs on the website, it shows 0-45° in the Specifications section.

Have you verified the corner when assembled is less than 90°?

I did not need to on my 75. I'd just set the stops to 45°.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I guess I just assumed that it was supposed to bevel to 47° because it has the extra two tick marks on the guide. Maybe the TS55 goes the extra degree or two past 45° if needed, not the TS75 which I assumed also did.

Yes, I verified the corner is less than 90° when assembled.

Setting the stops to 45° would be a very easy fix, good call on that. Only problem is that when I reset the little green arrow, I am not sure if I will be able to put it where it should be as it doesn't provide TOO much room for adjustment.

But, worse comes to worst, just setting the stops and knowing that it is at 45° even though the green arrow is indicating a different angle would be fine.

Thanks again, any other tips are appreciated.

Timber -

Why don't you give Festool a call on Monday morning and they can talk you through the angle setting and adjustment.  They're great to deal with over the phone.  If it's a new saw, they want it to work right from day 1.

Good luck, and btw, welcome to the FOG.

I will give them a ring first thing! Thanks for the tip. And thanks for the welcome, glad to have a resource like this.

My TS75 also needed 45 deg adjustment. I would not trust factory setting on any of these tools.
