breadboard ends with a domino

I'm about to build a table for a client that will have a expansion in the middle for 3, 12" leaves. I want to build it so that it will have breadboard ends on both outside ends and in the middle where the two separate tops meet. that way I will have nice design but also the boards will run short length in the center to avoid and expansion issues with aligning the two halves. Makes sense? Ok, my question is which is your preferred method of attaching the ends with a domino? glue middle, not outside? drill and dowel? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
