Hi,

Briwax has a water based hard wax oil. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,
Ken

I was watching this thread hoping for some replies myself.

I find the notion of a 'water based' hard wax oil intriguing! Seems like an oxymoron.

I've used the standard Fiddes and Oslo hard wax oil and really recommend them.

I just received a can, I’ll try it later in the week. I’ll post my results.

I’m wondering why there’s not much info on this, Briwax is a well known name and been around a long time. Maybe if they called it Rubio water coat it would get more attention from the youtubers.

I just want a non yellowing alternative to poly for lighter woods like maple and ash. I tried Rubio “white 5%” and “natural”, both were disappointing. The white pigment might look great on a floor, but not for a spalted maple table.
