Hey guys,

Just wondering if I'm alone on this one. I bought a T18 + 3 kit and centrotec kit about 3 months ago. In that time I
Broke one battery and now the charging indicator is broke and seems to be sticking out on one side....I will be the first to admit I'm hard on my tools and occasionally ask a lot of them but this seems a bit strange after only 3 months. I will return them to where I bought them and get them fixed but since that's about 30 miles away I'm less than thrilled about it. Any similar stories?

Sorry to hear, but what do you mean with broke a battery, and charge indicator sticking out? Did that happen on it's own or were you kind of tossing and hammering it about?
Festools are about delicate advanced engineering, they are very durable but not made to be abused, that's what protool, dewalt, bosch etc are for.

My T15 is about the same age, though i try to pet and spare it from abuse i couldn't stop it from dropping off the belt clip on rough concrete several times, had a big window blow over and crush it etc... apart from scratches on the outside and a chunk out of the centrotec chuck it's fine.

Is a broken battery one that doesn't work? ... or is the battery case physically damaged?

As Timtool says, Festools are precision tools and are not intended for "high impact" use - it's unfortunate that you don't have the Protool rage over there still.

Unfortunately a high power cordless will tend to find itself in less friendly conditions, up a ladder, dropped on concrete, etc ... the T18 can take the dust and dirt ... but you'll notice the case doesn't have additional rubber boots and protection that can make a surprising difference to survival.

First, sorry to hear about the trouble with your drill.  I've owned two T15 drills for three years now and I haven't had any issues.  I've dropped mine off a roof, forgot one outside in a downpour and they've been blasted with plaster dust plenty of times.  Besides some superficial damage they are still fine.

I think you'll probably get a faster turnaround if you deal with Festool directly.  Give their service guys a call and I think you'll find them friendly and very professional.  They will get you taken care quickly and you're still in the first year of warranty so it won't cost you anything.

Brice is right! Someone usually is...

The Festool Service Dept. number is 800-554-8741. They will pay shipping both ways and fix your tool.
