Brown oak coffee table.

Mark mentioned earlier in the thread that he marks them with a knife, routers out the bulk the chisels to the knife line.

Beautiful piece, Mark.  Just curious - for filling the voids, did you add any ebony saw dust to get it to dry so dark or does it just dry that way?  I have used other epoxy and some of it dries clear or a little yellow.  Love the stitched butterflies...adds a lot to the piece.  Very well done.

Lots of visual appeal in that table top, nicely done!!! I like the dovetail keys, they provide some nice contrast.

thats one beautiful table just love it  [tongue] how thick are the butterfly stitches ?

Hi Mark,

Since about a year or so I follow your blog. Luckily I'm on FOG too because you seem to share more info here than on your blog!
I couldn't either contact you through your blog so here's my question; from where did you order the West System epoxy?

Best regards,

Mauri

alfa thanks for your reply.
But ordering from the States I have done a few times before but with our tax in Finland I pay about 28,50 dollars per 100 dollars on an item. Parcels don't always go through customs but 99% of the time it does. Its just not worth it. I'd better buy in EU. Also UK often has ridiculous shipping rates to Finland but I thought its with asking Mark as I am sure he's done some research on where to buy and therefore might be worth for me ordering to Finland. Here in Finland I can buy  the 1.2 kilogram kit(resin and hardener) for 57.30EUR, thats 71,50 US dollars. I'd like to have the pump dispensers too and they go for 28 Dollars already over here..

Regards, Mauri

Thanks for all the interest, my 2 year old has given the top a nice patina now ........read scratched to hell  [laughing]. Its in my shop now being re-sanded and re-polished  [laughing] [laughing]. Kids you've gotta love em. I have a mobile studio photographer coming tomorrow to take some snaps, I will post the results on here.

As for west system in finland, maybe try here. Look under products starting with the letter W  ;)

Just got some nicer images done for the website...

Well, you did all the hard work in the first place and there's plenty there to be proud of! Beautiful work and the pictures do it justice.

That oak has some gorgeous grain in it.  Mark, what does a mobile photographer charge for taking those photos.

Cheers.

Mark, Your table looked great reading down from the top of the blog but, getting a professional photographer to take those last pictures gives us a look that shows exactly brilliant that table really is close up.  Well done!
