I have a lightly used BS105 belt sander that has not been used in a while. Today I required it for a project and noticed a small amount of oil on the housing, nothing much but it appears to be from the base of the housing and is travelling up the body via capillary action; is this normal?

Hi mine leaks a little as well, dust sticks to the residue around seams on the machine I dont think its anything to worry about I think is grease that has a slight seperation rather than oil

I clean it off when I have finished using it,been a few years now and it still goes. It is a noisey beast though

Just do not keep the maxi-Systainer with BS-105 vertically.
For extended storage in an upright position oil can flow

There is no oil in the machine, only grease at the gears.
When the gears get warm it will slightly leak some grease.
If more grease comes out, open the machine. Between  the gear housing there is a sealing
and should not leak much grease.

I own a BS105 and a BS 75 and opened the BS75 a year ago, you can see the white sealent around the housing, see picture.
