That's it. Subject says it all. No US dealers seem to carry either of the belt sanders. Would love to know why.

There is no 110 volt version of the sanders. Making 110 volt versions of them would require redesigning them, and that is very costly. The belt sanders are among Festool's least sold sanders here in Europe, and with an even smaller American market, I don't think Festool could expect to get their investment in redesigning them back.

I have a Bosch belt sander (75mm) that looks very similar to the Festool BS75. I can get a frame for the Bosch for floor sanding that is very much like the BS75's - but it's cost me $251. Then I'll have a old Bosch belt sander with a frame an no Systainer for it.

In operation it's probably as good as the Festool (remember, dust collection has technical limits with the mechanics of a belt sander).

I'm tempted to hang onto the Bosch regardless as it also has identical upside down feet to the Festool, so it can be used as a linisher.

I just looked on US Ebay and can see a Bosch belt sander identical to mine (mine is 240v).

Welcome to the forum. As others have said, the belt sanders are not available in the U.S. or Canada and currently there are no immediate plans to offer them. The Rotex family of sanders offers fast material removal like a belt sander while offering the versatility of a finish sanding mode.

Information on products not available in the US (including the belt sanders) is in this thread, which I try to keep updated:

I think the BS75 is the former AEG 75.  The latter was sold in the US.  I have one.
