Howdy Everyone!

About a month ago an art gallery got ahold of me and asked if they could feature some of my work at the end of this month. So I figured it would be a great time to build some new stuff! I decided on a living room set because my wife decided a new living room set would be nice (and if it doesn't sell I have to bring it back home). The entire set is made of Bubinga with tiger maple accents.

I Finally decided to build a regular Maloof lowback chair. Over the past year I've probably built 20 rockers/settees but never just a plain lowback. So now I can scratch that off the "to build before I die list"

The coffee table is my own design. The entire thing "floats" 2 inches off the floor and has 1 drawer that has a flocked bottom with blumotion glides. The top is also breadboarded because I'm all about that stability.

The side table/ lamp is also my own design. Everyone has a lamp and a side table by their reading chair so I thought id just kill 2 birds with one stone. The round tabletop is on a cantilever type thing and at the top is a hand blown pendant lamp.

Finally the Media cabinet is a knock off of how Maloof made his cabinets. The joinery is actually dominos with pegged screws to ease the clamping process.

Everything was finished with several coats of Surfix oil.

Also pictured is a gun cabinet I just finished and a walnut rocker.

Stuff looks nice..I just did a mantel out of bubinga for a customer and they wanted it dyed black...Almost refused. Turned out nice though..I really like working with that wood

I could understand an Art Gallery making this request you are a true Artisan Woodworker  [not worthy]

WOW!  Some really beautiful pieces...AGAIN!!  I'm really loving the lamp and wardrobe too.  Simply lovely

Very nice, Zach!!!  Keep up the great work!!!  Which gallery is displaying your work?  8)

Hey thanks everyone! This was one of my favorite little projects. And the Carnegie center for the arts in dodge is the place it's gonna be at. I'm taking several other things but this is probably the nicest set.
