Burned cuts on Kapex

I was using my Kapex today to cut some drawer stock and was getting a lot of burning. I was cutting 5/8" thick beech that was 6-8" wide. All of the burning occured to the left of the blade on the edge of the stock closest to me. On a few of the cuts the saw noticeably bogged down about mid way through. I am pulling the saw out, letting it get up to full speed and then pushing through the stock with moderate speed.. I checked my blade and it was at ninety and the miter setting was dead on. However, I checked some of my cuts with 6" square and the cuts were wavy. I used the hold down and that didn't seem to make a difference. I've had the saw for about 8 months and I don't use it on a daily basis. Could the blade be that dull? I also thought that it might be warped. I took the blade off and visually inspected it and placed it on a flat surface and I couldn't discern any damage. I had kickback incident a few weeks ago, could that have damaged the blade?

burned cuts to go along with a burned wallet. In all seriousness if you have another blade try it. One good thing is that fat Festool warranty.

Actually, while it was expensive I was able to get the saw before Festool put the clamps down on the Microsoft Cashback program.  I ended up getting $250 cashback plus I used a 10% off ebay coupon so it cost me less than $1000.  Irregardless I don't think the blade is covered by the warranty.

How is the stock, is it flat and straight? Twisted, warped or bowed stack can cause this.

Trying a new blade would be my advice as well.

I had a Kapex blade recently replaced by Festool under warranty. One of the laser cuts had blown out.

I've found Festool's warranty coverage to be excellent.

It's as straight and flat as can be.  I did try cutting a piece of alder about 6"wide and the cut was as clean as a whistle.  I'm thinking it must have something to do with the blade although I will recheck the alignment of everything tomorrow.  Does the warranty cover anything with the blade.  I can't imagine that it needs sharpening already?

Your kickback incident may have damaged the blade, maybe something else too.

I would let Festool look at the whole rig and check it out for you.

Check the fence see if it is still straight after the kickback incident.

I had a piece of Oak smash the fence on my Makita mitre saw and it bent the back fence this caused the cut to bind and burn maybe the same has happened with your Kapex.
