Hi, everyone.

My name is Ryan and I'm a newbie to this forum.

I'm not sure if this post is in the right section.  ;D

I'm interested in buying 240V Festool power tools, but I am wondering if which store in Europe provides international shipping?
Besides that, I hope someone could tell me which European freight forwarder service I could get ?

Thanks,

Ryan

[welcome] to the FOG

In N America anyhow, Festool dealers are not allowed to sell outside the country. I am not sure if this applies to European dealers too, but I think it does.

That said, there are always ways to get things done. I suggest that you contact the dealers directly, a list can be found through the Festool website. Make sure that you tell them you are looking for 240V items, which are not available in N America (I am guessing thats where you are---) You should also check around on pricing for the tools and accessories, as prices vary widely in some countries.

For shipping I cant be of much help, except to say be aware that with some services you may be charged a customs fee. I get International packages routinely delivered with the USPS and have yet to pay any additional fees. The one I had that was sent from the UK with UPS I was dinged a customs fee.

Also be aware that you probably will not have access to warranty service and perhaps parts if the need arises on items not sold in N America.

Good luck

There are certain European dealers that will ship internationally, however, I looked into it and the import tax charged by the U.S. was almost the cost of the unit I was ordering. If you shipped from China it would be free though, hmmmm isn't that interesting.. I do a lot of International trading for my sign/print shop and I am forced to deal with China because of import taxes being null. I feel this is the reason why all the big name yellow blue and red tools Have switched to a Taiwan/China factory for their equipment instead of the higher quality European countries for outsourcing. you are better off just buying the NA tools twice in my opinion, unless you know some body that goes between countries frequently.

My wife has a nephew who lives in Germany.  Many moons ago, he offered to pick up Festoys from the factory. We did further checking and it would have cost as much for delivery as the tools cost here. I don't know if that has changed.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah, I'm from the states but I'm buying the tools for some projects in Malaysia, a country in South East Asia. I'm ready to pay for the import taxes, but I'm just wondering what kind of shipping services are available out there.

In addition, the power tools I'm going to buy would be in big size, such as CTM 48AC, Kapex, Dorminos and others.
