The T18 and TID18 have very similar form factor and feel in the hand (impact grip feels a bit more refined), which make them a nice pair.

It would be nice to see a C handle impact to compliment the C series drills with the same ergonomic qualities.

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I think it could fit in well with the current 18v drill offerings.

What are your thoughts?

Given how often I keep my CXS “on” my hand when on a ladder or scaffolding while still using both hands, or better both sets of fingers, sure I can see a benefit from a C handle impact! Actually I think it’s a great idea!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Absolutely, very good idea!

As SPS mention, the ability to thread the drill onto your hand when working in heights is brilliant with the C handle series.

Also, giving straight inline pressure when holding the drill awkward in ie a ladder above head is much more effective. Having used the CXS18 and CXS12 to drive those  [censored] Philips screws into MDF now.. you really need to put your weight on to hinder cam-out  [crying]

Lastly, it would make Festool stand out against the rest…

What's the general consensus on the TID18, I have a bunch of pretty old Makita LXT's but I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one?

A great impact driver. Possibly not quite as refined in feel as the latest Makitas, but a top performing tool imo.
