For those who have the C12 drill, I am curious why you opted for it over the C15?  The weight difference seems negligible.  Is there anything other than being a little less cost that was a factor?  I know the torque, run time, etc... is more for the C15.  I have been toying with the idea of adding one or just going with the CXS instead for screwing.  I have the T15 already, which I love and so this would supplement it.

Thanks

Scot

I have a C12 which I bought because I liked the ergonomics and I already had a TDK12 so the batteries were interchangeable. The TDK was a bit lighter duty than I thought it should be yet I still use it often when I find it more convenient to employ 2 drills. The C15 did not exist then. If you use my logic the C15 would be compatible with your T15 (I think). Size and weight are so close to the C12 I see little reason to have two different voltages, especially in the middle of the drill range offered. OTOH, getting the CXS would give you a smaller drill footprint to complement your T15. Then you could get the T18, and then when Protool's killer drill comes in under the Festool name........................ ::)

Yep ... Festool x (CXS + C15 + Ti15) + Protool x (PDC 18-4) is a sweet combo ... and he Centrotec set makes it all the better.

Although I have Green Disease I never thought I'd buy a Festool drill.  However, somehow  a CXS snuck into my workshop.  A few days later I picked it up and tested it out in a tight spot - very impressed.  Six months later I bought a Syslite and thought an external battery would be good.  At the time Festool had a promotion on the C12 (with systainer, charger, 2 batteries, centrotec & bits). It was half price.  I could not resist.  The CXS and C12 now do 90% of the work.  Seven Makitas do the rest....

I started with a TDK-12.  I later added a T-15.  Later I added a C-12.  I like the C-12 for the ergonomics and the fact that it had the lower amp hour batteries.  I know have 2 - 1.3 and 2-2.4 to use with either the C-12 or the TDK-12.  Occasionally I will have all three out on a job but the one I grab for first is the C-12 due to weight.

Just me.

I had a similar dilemma and ended with a recon C15. I also have the CXS and several Hilti's. The advantage for me is the ability to use the batteries with the new Carvex.
Peter, please tell me I need the T18 too. I am so close to get it ....
Lol

Scott,

i was looking hard at the CXS before I bought it. The deciding factor for me was that C 12 is brushless where the CSX isnt.. Plus the C 12 has the off set chuck where the CSX doesnt.

I didnt even thing of the C 15

It's no accident that the CXS dosen't have the offset chuck, it's body is so slim it doesn't need one.
