C18 drill

Those chucks are the same as they have always been and will fit any T12, C12, T15, C15, T18, C18 Drill.

Hi Andy, they look identical to my C18 accessories.
I also have no knowledge of Festool changing those.

The changes I know of are from older corded drills, that had a different mounting mechanism.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the replies. I ended up getting it, the chucks are worth $250 here in Australia plus the systainer has to be worth $40 as it’s in very good condition.

I did a bit of research on the drill, looks like it was the model before the C12. I’m not expecting much from it, I’ll probably just leave the Jacobs chuck in  and use it as a spare. I’m not even sure it accepts a centrotec chuck but I guess I’ll find out soon.

Thanks

Got a chance to buy an old Festool (Festo) drill set for $100 (about $75 US). It’s a CDD 12 FX

I’m more interested in the right angle attachment and eccentric chuck. Does anyone know if they will fit on the newer style drills, eg my C18. The box says it’s nova drive which I assume was what they and before centrotec.

I can try and post photos later.
Cheers,
Andy

The catch was the dead batteries and switch that only goes full on or off?  [tongue]

Apparently at least one of the batteries was replaced in 2016 so it’ll be interesting to see how it goes. I’ve wanted a third drill for a while, and plan on getting the new 18V impact. This will have to do until I can afford/it gets released.

Well, the eccentric and right angle chuck already made it a good deal. Anything else is just bonus.

I wonder how they are going to price the combo pack of T18 Set + Impact

I'm kinda leaning blue for a new battery drill. For the price of a Festool T18+3 Set I could just as well get a Bosch GSR 18 and GDR (impact) 18 with 3 batteries. Then to cover the eccenter and right angle chuck I could get one of those 12V drills; the GSR 12v-15 FC and after selling the L-boxes and buying a Systainer I'll still have about 50 bucks left over. Having that 12V drill on the side will reduce the pain of not having Centrotec.

I’m not sure what sets they’re coming out with, I just hope it’s available early on as a basic drill with no batteries etc. Where did you hear the T18/impact (TI18?) combo?

The T18 and impact would make a good set, but I really like the C18. I can only dream they bring out an C style impact.

I’m also curious to know more about the impact, and whether it will come with a jacobs chuck or just centrotec? After the TI15 issues and trying to make it hybrid, it’ll be interesting to see what they do. It’ll be extremely handy also if they somehow made a hex style attachment to use regular hex bits like snappys. I imagine news won’t be that far away.

Cheers

Nowhere. Just assumption as they also sold T18 + TI18 in the past.

I did hear something about an 18V Impact + 18V Vecturo + 18V angle grinder. Also that did ditched the wired Vecturo. Still wondering about pricing though. As the cordless tools are w/o Plug-It, guide railing, dust extraction etc. it's almost a different ecosystem anyway.

There has never been a 18V impact. The TI15 was "it" and a bit clumsy to be honest. Never bonded with mine.

I do look forward to the new impact, it's been a long wait for me. The cordless Vecturo will be on the list as well. I am not that keen on another grinder as I have an excellent Hitachi 18V already and I don't use them that often.

I use the "C" series drills only because I like the grip and idea that it gives me some protection from busting my knuckles should the driver slip off of the screw. Depending on what you are doing this might be a concern.
