Anyone use water based wipe on poly? What were your results?

I have a project that I just can't get the top coat free of bubbles. Also have a few places where this is uneven coverage.
I don't think you can cut water based poly like you can with oil based and after 7 coats I see no end in sight.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My question is actually about wipe on water based poly, not the regular water based. Sorry for not being complete.

I hate the bubbles... ultimately I got a $100 paint spraying station from Lowes.  Works good.  One thing I have learned is to not use brushes with the final coats of poly.  Just take a tee shirt (they sell pieces of tee shirts in bags at Woodcraft), fold it, and use that.  When it gets saturated, make a fresh one.  Works with oil or water-based poly.

You know those Minwax commercials on TV?  Never happened to me that way.  I always ended up with bubbles when using a brush.

I've had terrific results with Minwax oil based wipe on.  And of course there are no bubbles and no over spray.  Runs and drips are none existent.
