*** Update for 2-20-2014: Still waiting for Price & Availability for the Systainers from Tanos. Hopefully will have some progress yet this week. You can still sign up until pricing is finalized and I have called for payment. ***
*** Updates as of 2-10-2014 ***
We are close enough to a 'final' kit that I can ask for verbal commitments here. What does a verbal commitment mean? Only that you have intention to order a kit when they become available. No deposit or down payment is being requested - just your good faith commitment. Please note that I am not planning to add any mark-up or profit on this, nor do I ask for any money to cover my time. I believe that this is something I am uniquely qualified to do and can give back to the community.
I don't want to repeat what has already been discussed, so if you want you can read the full discussion here:
First Aid Systainer thread
What the kit will be:
*** Option 1 - Special T-locSys 1 SYS 2 attic / Lid-Sort systainer with contents ***
Option 2 - Contents only, to be inserted in your own Sys 1. *** There was zero interest in this option ***
Contents will be approximately the list in post #66 of the above thread, with revisions.
All medical items will be new/sealed/sterile, with fresh expiration dates. Where possible they will be individually wrapped or 'unit dose' versions.
For Option 1, I estimate the cost will be about $200-$225, plus shipping.
For Option 2, I estimate the cost will be about $125-$150, plus shipping.
If I source and ship the Systainers they will AT LEAST have a different colored latch and some indication that this is a first aid kit. I will post some options on here to get feedback before making a decision, but it will look professional and be easy to quickly identify.
*** I heard back today and Tanos only has the Lid-sort in two colors - Lt Gray (Festool color) and Anthracite. Therefore, the final color scheme is probably looking like this:
- LIGHT GREY SYS-2 w/ Lid-Sort Tray
- RED T-Loc Catch
- RED Handle
And before anyone asks, yes, I have asked about the possibility of a red SYS 2 with a Lt. Gray lid. I'll update the post when I have an answer. ***
I need at least a dozen people to commit so I can get the prices indicated above. *** Not an issue - THANKS EVERYONE for your interest! ***
As I mentioned in the thread, I am assuming that this will be a one-time deal.
Please post your comments or commitments belowand I'll decide whether this idea merits further effort. *** I think we know the answer to that, right?! ***
And to our NINA brethren - yes, I'll be happy to ship to you. In fact, I'll ship to Mars - as long as you cover the shipping costs!
