*** Update for 2-20-2014: Still waiting for Price & Availability for the Systainers from Tanos. Hopefully will have some progress yet this week. You can still sign up until pricing is finalized and I have called for payment. ***

*** Updates as of 2-10-2014 ***
We are close enough to a 'final' kit that I can ask for verbal commitments here. What does a verbal commitment mean? Only that you have intention to order a kit when they become available. No deposit or down payment is being requested - just your good faith commitment. Please note that I am not planning to add any mark-up or profit on this, nor do I ask for any money to cover my time. I believe that this is something I am uniquely qualified to do and can give back to the community.

I don't want to repeat what has already been discussed, so if you want you can read the full discussion here:

First Aid Systainer thread

What the kit will be:

*** Option 1 - Special T-loc Sys 1 SYS 2 attic / Lid-Sort systainer with contents ***

Option 2 - Contents only, to be inserted in your own Sys 1. *** There was zero interest in this option ***

Contents will be approximately the list in post #66 of the above thread, with revisions.

All medical items will be new/sealed/sterile, with fresh expiration dates. Where possible they will be individually wrapped or 'unit dose' versions.

For Option 1, I estimate the cost will be about $200-$225, plus shipping.
For Option 2, I estimate the cost will be about $125-$150, plus shipping.

If I source and ship the Systainers they will AT LEAST have a different colored latch and some indication that this is a first aid kit. I will post some options on here to get feedback before making a decision, but it will look professional and be easy to quickly identify.

*** I heard back today and Tanos only has the Lid-sort in two colors - Lt Gray (Festool color) and Anthracite. Therefore, the final color scheme is probably looking like this:

- LIGHT GREY SYS-2 w/ Lid-Sort Tray
- RED T-Loc Catch
- RED Handle

And before anyone asks, yes, I have asked about the possibility of a red SYS 2 with a Lt. Gray lid. I'll update the post when I have an answer. ***

I need at least a dozen people to commit so I can get the prices indicated above. *** Not an issue - THANKS EVERYONE for your interest! ***

As I mentioned in the thread, I am assuming that this will be a one-time deal.

Please post your comments or commitments below and I'll decide whether this idea merits further effort. *** I think we know the answer to that, right?! ***

And to our NINA brethren  - yes, I'll be happy to ship to you. In fact, I'll ship to Mars - as long as you cover the shipping costs!

[big grin]

If it looked killer professional looking latch, nice insert I would take one.

So far there are four votes for option 1:

1. lovemytoys (First - thanks!)
2. Walk On Wood
3. Luzzy
4. jeep jake
Thanks, guys - Not bad for the first half hour after posting!

I am considering the SYS 1 Box - 497694 but I don't own one at the moment so I am not sure if it will be worth the difference in price. As of now, there won't be an insert. The items will be positioned such that there is little to no movement. Of course, I reserve the right to modify my idea if I come up with a way to make it better!

I'd like option 1 gift wrapped and delivered to my friend on Mars please.

Option 1 for me!

Personally i would prefer a Festool Grey systainer with a different color latch.

Ohh, and thank you for offering to put this together!

Ive needed to get a first aid kit in my van forever. Ill make sure to make a provision for it in my new van racking

I'll take either.  Just put a drill but into my middle finger an hour ago.  This is what I have in my truck.  Lame.

One request:  cloth band aids.  I hate the plastic ones, they never stay on.

Jon

So far the votes are overwhelmingly for option 1, so that's what we'll go with. Also it looks like the preference is a gray Festool Sys1 with a colored T-lock. That's easy enough to do.

People who have signed up so far:

1. lovemytoys (First - thanks!)
2. Walk On Wood
3. Luzzy
4. jeep jake
5. neilc
6. Crox G
7. Kev? Thanks for the chuckle, but are you actually in or not? I'm not certain?
8. Bhend18
9. r cash
10. rljatl
11. Devildawg91
12. 3PedalMINI
13. Jon Hilgenberg - (and I agree on having cloth/fabric bandaids)
14. RKA
15. ryansmythe

Thanks for the GREAT response! We clearly have enough interest for me to move forward with this, so I will begin putting an order together. I will continue to take commitments until next Friday the 14th to allow everyone plenty of time to sign up if they want. Because I am not making anything on this I have no profit to 'play' with, so I will ONLY order enough to cover requests posted here. I realize that there MIGHT be someone who ultimately doesn't go through with their order, but that's the only way a kit will be available if you don't get on the list by next Friday.

Any questions or comments, please feel free to ask. I prefer that you post them here or EMAIL me as I will see them faster than PM's.

Thanks again!

If you need i can paypal payment ahead of time to make sure you have the money to cover the materials.
