Can the Festool CXS compact cordless drill drive a 4" GRK RSS lag?

Inquiring minds want to know if it has enough torque to do the job.  Into the edge of a 2x6 DF stud to be exact.

Well, I can't answer that specific question, but I can tell you that we were running a 1-3/8" auger bit through timbers at AWFS with it. The reality is that it's not designed to do either. It's a compact drill. If you need to run lags, choose the right tool for the job. Just my  [2cents].

Yes it will.  I know that for a fact.  It would not be the first drill I would reach for, for that task but, it will get the job done.

This is a drill you don't want to use for lags. It will probably get it in, but you'll be switching torque settings and running the drill rather hot. In this case I'd reach for something with more bollocks behind it.

I'll remember not to climb up the ladder after you then!

Last week I installed fiber cement siding over foam insulation.  I used 3 1/8 inch GRK screws with no trouble.  I started with the T15 but one battery couldn't take the heat (108 degree heat index in the sun).  I went to the CXS as backup and was surprised at how well it worked.  The T15's speed and power made it faster (getting through the fiber cement), but the light weight of the CXS really balanced the trade-off.  I ended up using both throughout.  Battery life was surprisingly good (at least for the ones that could take the heat).
