Can the thin kerf saw blades be used on a non-F TS 55?

I was given 3 brand new saw blades for the TS 55. However, these are the thin kerf blades (1.8 mm). I own the non-F TS 55 that uses the "older" 2.2 mm thick blades. Can I safely use/adapt them, so that they will fit my TS 55? I couldn't find any information regarding this and I hesitate to "just do it" when it comes to fast spinning sharp metal objects. I would expect the thinner blade might start to excessively vibrate. But maybe something can be done about that?

I wouldn't do it.

Question that come to mind:

1) Is it possible to tighten it enough for it to not slip?

2) Does it play well with the riving knife that is optimized for the 2.2mm blades/cut width? (And that's probably the most important question of the two I have on this.)

3) What are the underlying dangers from 1 & 2?

I sometimes use a thin kerf blade on my table saw.  I add blade stiffeners. 

I have no experience with this on Festool saws however.  It would take up the thickness difference.

My saw is an HK-55, which uses the same 1.8mm blades. The blades are fine, leastwise that's been my experience. I've used the saw for everything from softwoods to Corian.

The main problem for you is the riving knife which too thick for the 1.8mm kerf. There have been some discussions in here on the possibilities of machining the riving knife, but I don't know if anyone has actually done it and wrote about it.

It looks like I will have no use for those 3 blades then. Silently I was hoping for a trick using a filler to make up for the difference in thickness. I completely overlooked the issue with riving knive...  [scared]

Oh, well. I'll see if I can sell them on to someone else.

I would be very leery of the riving knife binding on the smaller kerf.
