Can You Adjust TID 18 for torque?

I just got my TID 18 today, In my Festool Acquisition Syndrome frenzy, I failed to look closely at the specs when I ordered it. There are no speed or power adjustments. In the hopes that it was automatic, I drove a small wood screw into a scrap of wood and promptly stripped out the hole after burying the head about a quarter of an inch. It was a torx drive head. It seems as though you have to pay close attention to the depth of the screw and stop accordingly. Did I miss something? There was no mention in the manual. It's not a big issue and I don't adjust my other Festool drivers unless I'm driving a lot of the same screw.

I just read the online product info mentioning the Intelligent Power so it is automatic. I may have to test with it some more.

Similar to most impact drivers there are three speed/power selections + a self tapping screw mode adjusted with the green button at the base and no clutch.

Yeah, I don’t know why it’s a thing, but it’s a thing with pretty much all of them.  Makita has a model that has a button just over the trigger that allows you to scroll through the four speed settings but it also has like three or four other modes you have to access from the lower panel.

It's always the things you are not aware of that make you feel silly.  I've been using Milwaukee impacts, 12 and 18v since they came out.  When they released the Surge I immediately bought one.  Most of my work involves steel and aluminum entrances, anymore when I have to repair a sagging door, I use continuous hinges that require driving 20 or so self drilling screws and drilling 4-5 3/8" holes to accept sex bolts.  I was rehanging a door when the Surge would not drill any longer.  I sent the driver back with Milwaukee's outstanding  repair service, fill out online form, return, they send you new in box tool.  The second one behaved the same way, returned, new tool.  Finally realized with the third tool that there were settings on the base to change torque and drilling...DUH.  I now actually read the instructions when I get a new tool.
