Cannot Access FOG Using Firefox

Help, please.  I have not been able to access FOG using Mozilla Firefox for many months.  The home page comes up without any problems, but after I send my log in information, All I get is a blank page whose URL indicates I am at FOG's site.  The Firefox error console contains data but I do not understand any of it.

While typing this plea for help using IE for access to FOG, I re-opened Firefox and lo, and behold, there was the FOG Home Page that appears after loggin in, and when I clicked on some strings and posts, they all opened, and much faster than when using IE.  I kept open my log in through IE to complete this message.

Weird... can anyone explain or provide me steps to cure this problem with Firefox?  All other searches and websites that I have tried using Firefox appear to work without any glitches.

I have some new projects (installing deck post caps and another Entertainment Center Console) and a couple of simple router jigs to to post.

Dave, sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems accessing the forum.  Do you have issues with any other websites?  I use Firefox all the time and access the forum without issues.  I looked at 27% of all visitors to the forum use Firefox so I would think that we would have heard more complaints if it were a widespread issue but I definitely want to help you get it resolved.

Do you possibly have virus/malware software which may be erroneously triggering or possibly a Firefox add-on that's blocking access for some reason?  If you can send me a screenshot of the error console via email, I'll look at it and see if I can determine the cause.

Dave,

As a contented Firefox user, I am likewise mystified.  I assume you have anti-virus/malware software installed on your computer, although usually problems are with MS IE and not Firefox.  Perhaps Mozilla help might offer some insight.

Sorry you are having this problem.

Have you tried the "ctrl + shift + delete" and cleaned out everything? I know this sounds odd but it does often help.

I too am a Firefox user (Version 3.6.6) and it works perfectly for me so this perplexes me.

I'm using Firefox on Mac, Windows XP and Windows 7 all without problems with the FOG.

Perhaps it's a plug in problem? What plug ins are you running?

Thanks to all who have responded to try to help me.  I have been using Firefox successfully for nearly all of my internet website activity including FOG.  All other websites work without problems, only access to logging in to FOG is being blocked.  Today I was successful, why I do not know.  I am using Mozilla Firefox version 3.6.6 and generally install updates and upgrades when offered.  Likewise, my PC is set for automatic downloads of MS VISTA (32 bit) updates and I am running Service Pack 2.  My computer is protected by PC Tools Spyware Doctor with antivirus and PC Maestro (which monitors and corrects register errors, if any, among other PC maintenance tasks), and I rigorously download and install the updates daily and run a full scan at least once per week and lesser scope scans at least every other day -- and no viruses or other anomalies have been found since switching to PC Tools products.  After putting out my plea for help, I turned off Fireshot since it doesn't do anything useful unless you buy their subscription product, and added some ad-blocking filters.

Today, to log on, after entering my name and password, the return was another webpage indicating that Firefox was blocking some pop-up ad, but that information line included a box I could click on to allow the pop-up, and when I clicked on it, I was on FOG!!  This was not earlier occurring.  Instead, I received a web page that identified the URL as FOG /2 but no other information displayed.

The good news is that today I am able to log on.  I agree with those who regularly use Firefox.  I have compared its speed of page loading with IE on my PC, and Firefox is much faster to load pages.  Time Warner Cable is my ISP through a Linksys wireless router.  I ran the speed test at Digital Landing while composing this email, download speed = 13.7 Mbps, Upload speed = .48 Mbps.  Then I ran the speed test at http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/.  Download speed = 18.6 Mbps, Upload speed = .48 Mbps.  So, with this cable ISP, my computer should be "smoking" fast.

Is Dave not using wireless or is it just going through a wireless router? For wireless thats is really good.

I got a 39Kbs down and 12Kbs up...
