Carvex 420 EBQ Jigsaw

I had some time today to try and fine tune my new jigsaw, however after spending over an hour carefully  following detailed instructions and using a new festool blade I still cannot get it to cut a square line.
Any tips will be appreciated, Mark.

When properly adjusted, the carbide jaws will slightly rub the paint off the blade. Follow the instructions in the setup video below.

Check the block that holds the guides underneath it has a torx screw my mate had the same problem last week his was not central which was forcing the blade over

Also, remember to let the saw do the work. Don't force it through the cut.  [wink]

Hi Shane, thanks for your reply, as mentioned in my first post I have spent over an hour carefully  following detailed instructions, and while making the cuts I was careful to rest the saw perfectly flat on the stock and not force it into the cut but rather let the saw work its way, here is a zoomed in portion of my first image which shows the wear markings on the blade from the carbide guides. I have spent a lot of time looking for a possible solution prior to making this post, I think I am doing everything right, yet?

I would expect to see a little more paint worn off than that if the jaws were properly set. Did you watch the video?

I just spent another hour making tiny gradual  adjustments to the guides and the guide foot torx bolt all the while I made 12 cuts and still not able to make a square cut, could it be my saw ?

The aluminum casting of my saws foot plate was warped and caused similar problems.  Festool sent me a replacement which is flat and works much better.  Might be worth checking.

Sure, there's a possibility that your Carvex has an issue. It's hard to say for sure without having the saw in front of me.

If it's convenient to do so, feel free to take your Carvex back to the dealer and compare it with their demo unit. You can also exchange it if it's within 30 days from the date of purchase for another jigsaw.

Make sure that the pendulum action is set to 3. And, just to reiterate, let the saw do the work. Pushing the blade through the material can increase blade deflection.

I actually ran into a problem with my Carvex that eventually required service.  After a month or so of using it the blade was all of a sudden out of square -- no precipitating event, such as dropping it or making an overly aggressive bevel cut.  Talked to Festool on the phone and they told me to try and realign it by using the star screw.  After putting it back into square using this method it didn't take long before it was again out of square.  After examining it very closely, I realized that there was a small amount of play in the detachable base.  It wasn't enough that it would move during the cut, but the pressure used for putting in a new splinter guard, for example, was enough to move it, which would then result in it going out of square since the blade was being fed into the splinter guard at a slight angle.

So I took it over to the dealer and he sent it out for repair.  A week and a half later it came back and is now working perfectly without any further alignment issues.  Not sure if this might be your problem, but you could test the base to see.

My Carvex came back from repair in the mail, and after making a cut it was clear that there is no improvement at all, I emailed the service department and they simply realigned the foot plate and mailed it back without testing weather it has been repaired, back to repair it goes another two weeks without a jig saw.

I've emailed our service team to get more details about what was done with the saw.

In the mean time, I have to ask... Are you 100% positive that your square is really square? I ask because we've had others on the forum with square cut or MFT squaring issues and it came down to an inaccurate square.

Hi Shane, thanks for your support,  I have been dealing with the repair depot in Canada if that makes any difference.
I did just verify the square and its spot on.
