Hey guys I have just been informed that not only do we have a new jigsaw but there are also new designed blades for this machine , I have also seen a new video with the jigsaw in action and it's all looking very good , I shall try and find the link and put it on here also the new jigsaw blades numbers , green. Here are the blade order numbers , x5 75mm 499476 . X5 105mm 499475. X5 145mm 499478. I tried the link but it went to some other site ! I shall try again .Some how I could not get the link to work but if you search YouTube carvex 420 it will come up the video is around 11 minutes long .Perhaps Shane could get the link to work , thanks in advance Shane , green .

There the video added.  [wink]

I believe the Trion blade was made slightly thinner to work better in the Carvex with it's auto-eject mechanism. I want to say it was just a thinner coat of paint on the blade, no change to the blade itself, but I may be wrong.

Looks like they got it sorted!

Thicker surely?

You have cordless AND corded version  [eek]

This video is my kind of video just simple show it how it is no sugar coating and saying how ''AWSOME'' this and that is!    like a lot of videos I see.

cheers!!

Have you run any trials with other Festool blades and the old Trion-labelled S75/4 FSG blade? Do they work with the new blade guide system as well the 'new blade' or is it only this particular combination that works like its supposed to?

Well, it looks good on that video.  Cant wait to get mine & try it out  [big grin]

Cheers for the Vid.

All blades work but I am well informed Fsg is the ultimate blade hopefully I can get a hold of some and give them a test although you may well have to order them because I think they are not as yet in store .

Good Morning

We had the new blades in this morning, and after a quick look, I can only spot one difference to the old ones, can you?

Regards

Warren

I can see the only difference that "old" blades have "Trion", the new one have "Carvex". Plus new P/N.

Good Afternoon

That's all I can see, there may be another difference but I can't tell. I'll ask the rep next time he's in.

Best regards

From what TTS Holland told me, is that the new Carvex blades are rectangular and therefore are a little stiffer while the Trion versions are a little tapered.
That the Trion versions are tapered can only be measured with a caliper and also has a reason, not to have the blade burning the material and going around corners.

I personally think it's a little late to bring out the Carvex blades because the PS 400 series are nearly 2 years on the market.

And what I see on the PS 420 video on the FOG it's of no use at all. It still a machine with problems. But maybe that's a little to soon to judge.

Hey needleman , you have a lot of festool equipment and when you get the chance to test the 420 take your 400 with you I am sure you will notice the difference in blade and saw , jmb get hold of the 420 when you can and give it the once over , green .

I got one of the new S75/4 FSG Carvex blades and the only difference that I can find with the Trion one is a miniscule thickness difference with the carvex branded being thicker by a hair. Had to put them on a table back to back to even notice the difference. Could be thicker paint - that small a difference.

It could be that the trion ones a bit tapered at the back vs. the carvex one being more or less uniform thickness.

I would love to but been told festool only replace the 400 with 420 if your carvex has been in for repair 3times
