You have X number of days to return it, where X depends on the country where you bought it.  If you bought it new, I'd return it right away.

If they don't answer their phone, I'd suggest a road trip. [big grin]  The sooner the better.

Im not driving over 100 miles to take a jigsaw back  [big grin] I’m in the U.K. so the company have to take it back. It’s just a pain trying to sort it out.

I'm sure he or at least one manager would be interested in knowing which store is sending out used tool as new.
 
I might have to. The shop want me to send pictures of the jigsaw. They might say they normally look like that.

That looks used to be sure, sometimes machines get a little bumped in transit but all those particles look like a different story.

John, doesn't matter what condition it's in, even if it was spotless and untouched, the dealer will exchange or refund, it's the rules.

(I'm sure it wasn't us, we answer the phone.)

Hi Warren, no it wasnt you  [big grin]
I finally got in touch and they are swapping it. They did want photos,which I was going to kick up a fuss and just say give me a refund. As you say they legally have to take it back.

that's more than a "little bumping".    [scared]  And the insert would be "bumped" too.

And where is the sole protector that is installed at the factory ?

And how did those scratches get on the blade mount if it is new ?

And where did all those xtra owners manuals come from ?  We've seen FT USA lackadaisical approach to the ReCon sale and their overlooking obvious faults before shipping those. But I haven't seen or heard that folks in Wendlingen make mistakes like sending out 4 manuals of different types on brand new tools.

This was just a lazy shortsighted approach by this dealer that's going to end up costing them shipping charges both ways.
 
Got my replacement delivered today. This time it looks new  [big grin]
The replacement also had a couple of blades with it, and also the paperwork to register the warranty which the first didn’t.
