The port slides in well.  It doesn't lock like it does on the standard base, but mine is snug.

The design of that base actually moves the dust collection opening closer to blade than the standard base.

Thank you Peter and Frank.   Peter I agree with you.  I have researched extensively on the Carvex.  And Frank's review is the one that helps the most.  Excellent work that actually led me to buy the Carvex, by thoughtfully and thoroughly weighing pro and cons versus Trion and other brands.  Frank thanks for posting  your picture on the guide base dust collection on this thread too.   I plan to pick up the circle cutter and guide rail base tomorrow.    The early posts in this thread were confusing to say the least or I just missed something  [huh]

Now that I have a Festool vac back in my workshed, I was able to test the dust collection of the Carvex on a rail.

I chose to rip a 120 cm long kerf in 35 mm thick spruce.  At least 95 percent of the dust was picked up.

I also tried some crosscuts and the dust collection was just as good.

I just picked up my Carvex PS 420 EBQ today (with the accessory kit as well) and only got to try it out on a piece of MDF I had laying around.

I used the supplied blade with standard base and my CT26 cranked up. There was a ton of dust pouring out of the bottom of the cut, and I know MDF makes more dust than is used to create MDF in the first place, but has anyone had experience here?

I guess I am not used to it happening with my TS55 as it is usually supported underneath. I also won't be cutting a ton of MDF but it seems to be far away from the 85-95% collection I am used to.
