Carvex promo video

Again, Festool solves the problems we've all encountered at some time or another with a jigsaw. Now I just want to know when we get them here in the USA. I have a Hilti jigsaw that needs replacing. I contacted Hilti to fix its sideways tracking. they wanted almost the price of a new one. I'm holding out for the Carvex.

OK, that folding base looks RIDICULOUSLY handy.  So, general availability in 2012 for NA? :(

i really like the new d handle that you can also use as a barrell grip

Yeah my dealer said he prefers that one. I mentioned that I would want the barrel grip as I have been told that barrel grips are easier to use upsidedown and he said on the carvex its just as easy with the d grip type.

can't we buy the battery version and just use our 15+3 batteries? we have to work on this.

In Europe there will be a Carvex version without the battery charger TRC3 but in Systainer: PSC 400 EB/GG.
And it costs 398 euros incl. VAT. The price difference with the Plus version is 75 euros.
It's mentioned on page 7 of this folder Festool woodworker 2010

But still no one without batteries or without a systainer. That again should reduce the price with at least 150 euros to 248 euros.
Why cannot we choose our own configuration with parts like Systainer, 1 or 2 batteries, battery charger?
That's something to think about Festool, or is it not commercially interesting?

if we can buy the ps300 trion without any extras, then i am sure in the future, the carvex will be available as a bare tool also.
maybe some festool dealers can confirm or deny that the trion can be sold as a bare tool with no systainer or extras.

Great post.  Thanks for getting that up here.  Looks wicked.  Can't wait to get our hands on it!

Recently Dan Clark posted a link to a YouTube video of the new Rotex RO90 at a trade show in Russia.

I noticed that there was a Carvex sitting on the table at the show, and went to see if there was a video of that too. There was, and here it is.

The caption reads "Презентация лобзиков Carvex в Краснодаре 01 апреля 2010 года", which I believe is "Presentation of Carvex jigsaw at Krasnodar, on 1 Apr 2010". Krasnodar is a city in southern Russia, about 50 miles from the Black Sea.

Forrest,

Great catch!  That presenter did an excellent job of showing off the Carvex features.  Although it's in Russian, his hand gestures were so good, that I had little difficulty following most of what he was talking about.  Unlike a lot of presenters, who love to see their faces in the video, this fellow understands the value of closeups of what viewers want to see - the product.

Thanks for posting this.

Regards,

Dan.
