Haven't seen a cordless Mafell jigsaw as of yet..
Out of curiousity, why is it that the Festool Jigsaw is 550w and the Mafell is 900w?
I normally look at wattage on most tools, but cant question Festool's quality.

Most of Mafell's lineup seems to be geared towards timber framers and heavy carpentry. Festool seems to be more popular with finish carpenters and cabinetmakers. Mafell also seems to lean towards higher wattage motors in some of their tools. One of their saw commercials even sort of made fun of the high wattage ratings.
As for the lower wattage rating on the Festool, jigsaw wattage ratings seem to be all over the place.
The three jigsaws Fein made were rated at 350 watts, 450 watts, and 750 watts. I've never had a Fein tool that seemed under powered. The 750 watt jigsaw from Fein was actually made for cutting 1" thick steel. The 450 watt one is made for cutting 3/8" steel and the design is probably a couple decades old.
The Hilti WSJ850 jigsaws were rated at 850 watts.
With the Carvex Festool may have used a lower wattage motor than in the Trion and in the Mafell jigsaws, but I believe neither of those are brushless motors. The cutting capacities of both the Trion and Carvex jigsaws are listed as being the same.
The lower wattage of the carvex is also useful if you want to run the jigsaw with a CT dust collector on an older circuit that may not be rated at 20 amps. I've run into this problem on occasion.
Sorry if my answer rambles on.
