Carvex Safety Suggestion

I always unplug a power tool before doing a blade change or any adjustment.

After accidentally switching on my battery powered Carvex, I have started removing the battery and not reinserting it until I am ready to make a cut.

Other than being surprised when the Carvex started up, no harm was done.

It was a "free" lesson.

I did the same thing earlier this week. But i didnt unplug, just a quick blade change an just as the blade snapps in place i accidently hit the start buttom. no harm done.

for a long time I hav been thinking that maybe i should unplug before changing blad om carvex and ts55.

On some battery powered machines from other manufacturers there is a separate (hidden) switch to turn off the power from the battery.
Maybe a suggestion for Festool, because the new TSC 55 battery powered plunge saw has the same problem.
On a demo I had one in my hands and the Festool employee warned me not to pull the trigger and plunge the saw at the same time!

Yeah on my cordless saw you have to remove the battery, which then automatically locks the blade. Meaning the saw is isolated. It's just a simple button that springs out. I kind of presumed when you pulled the fast fix lever it would automatically isolate the machine on the tsc. It is good practice to isolate any power tools before changing the bladed

The biggest problem with any power tool portable, powered or any machine is complacency. I know this to my own cost. Please everyone think carefully when using or working on any machine.

Outside of changing drill bits I alway disconnect the power source be it plug-it or battery when changing blades or bits.  I guess I learned this safety tip early on and it stuck with me.
