Anyone know when the new jig saws will be available?  I am anxious to replace a couple from Bosch.  I have a Trion PSB 300 EQ and am very pleased with it, but I have seen  [eek] the video (in German) for the new model with the accessories and choose to wait for its release.

Thanks
Mark

you may want to watch the Introduction video of the Carvex i've made recently (in englisch)  to cheer up even more :)
However, it's worth waiting for it.

Edit: Added link to video, because forgot it due to heavy xmas preps (mea culpa..)

Festool Carvex PS400 Intro 1

there are some more on my Youtube channel.

kind regards, Mike

I was wondering if when the carvex is available in US if they will sell the trion at a discount. I am someone who dose'nt use a jig saw much, mostley for coping base and crown and the occasionl top cut out or arch trim.

Tim,  first Merry Christmas!  I think that I remember reading here that the Carvex will supplement the Trion, not replace it.

It wouldn't shock me to see some used Trions coming onto the market once the Carvex arrives.

Perhaps I used the wrong phrasing.  I though that I had read somewhere that the Trion is not going to be discontinued at this point.

I just watched the video.  The Carvex looks very neat.  He mentioned a base which would attach to a guide rail.  Why would I use a jigsaw on the guide rail as opposed to using the TS55?

In Germany, the Carvex is the main Jigsaw Festool is offering.. and the Trion 300 is still available.
...
But if you search on ebay.de for closed auctions "Festool PS", you will see how many old saw's have been sold.. there are loads of PS 1E, 2E, 100, 200..
and many.. many PS 300's - but also a few Carvex, corded version - since the cordless model came out.
...
So from there my feeling is, the german Festoolies are buying new jigsaws..
some of them the Mafell, Bosch or Makita, but most of them will buy a Festool Jigsaw again,
- which is most likely the Carvex  [big grin]

kind regards, Mike

You can cut much thicker stock with the Carvex. 120mm compared to only 55mm with the TS55. Less 5mm for guide rail thickness of course. For us that don't yet have a band saw, being able to use the jigsaw/guide rail combination is a nice option. Just my  [2cents].

be sure, to watch the review of the Carvex in the Review Section and the other Video's on Youtube.
There is a nice Video made by a Russian fellow, to show which precision can be achieved with the Carvex on the guide rail:

Dovzhenko_Festool_Carvex_PS400.mov

or the other Videos on my channel about cutting on the guide rail:

Festool_Carvex_PS400_Cutting_with_Guide_Rail.mp4

or cutting with the circle jig

Carvex_PS400_Curve_cutting_Jig_de-mystified.mp4

you may also want to look at the Carvewx review in the review section , if not already done.

I have an older bosch d-handle.

I would like a new jig saw.

I think I will get a carvex and upgrade the old bosch to a new barrel grip one for my coping foot.

IN Belgium the PS300 went dosn in price a few months before the introduction of the CARVEX. This was however not announced or communicated. My regular dealer didn't even knew about the price change. I only noticed it because I xas considering one at that time, one day it was EUR +300 on the website, the next day it was EUR 240 on the festool website (ex VAT numbers).

I'm sure something like that wouldn't go unnoticed in the US thanks to the FOG

greetz,

Philippe
