I had the same thought. That and the expanding/collapsing display stands used at exhibitions.

I pre-ordered the pro version. I will see if it is better and easier to set up then the steel saw horse and plywood grid style cut table.

Interesting.  Like the folded up size and the light weight.  I am going to thing about the pro version.  I wonder if it is as stable if not expanded all the way.

Pre-order payment was processed through Pay-Pal and already hit my Credit card, Not good. Sent them an E-mail, stating that i should not be charged until the product ships and I was unhappy with them hitting my credit card for a product that will not ship until Feb 2014.  [scared]

i would rather if it had twice as many legs for more support.
it looks hand for smaller jobs where you dont need a perminent bench.

Yeah , that's past the PayPal 90 day period that you could file a claim for a refund for nondelivery .
That's NOT Good at all .
I've had problems with these pre-pay for new products & PayPal , once burned ,never again  [mad]
I'll wait for you guys to be the  " Test Bunnies " on this .

It seems like reading their website that they are using the kickstart model - using your money to finalize the capital needs for production and to do that there is a reduced cost.  But because they had two models they couldn't go thru kickstart which requires one.

Kickstarter has many examples of multiple versions of one product - so that would not prevent them from doing it.  Perhaps something else?

Or perhaps they are taking the money and running!  Good luck in resolving the advance payment.

I watched the video but not sure how it would accommodate uneven surfaces or smaller pieces of ply.

I had to laugh watching the one guy crosscutting the ply in the video.  Worst cut I think I've ever seen!

yeah I was wondering on how steady this would hold for say routering , cutting ,
if you bumped it with your hip would it rock back & forth ?
and the leveling on un-even ground .
Not trying to bad mouth this item , just some concerns  [huh]

I think it is very interesting and tempting. But how would one person put a piece of plywood on it? You cant lay a long edge on it and let it side over. Do you lay the long edge on the first row of "p tops" and let it flop over? Do you stand it up  on the ground next to it and pivot the plywood on the first row of "p tops" and then slide the plywood over?

  Yeah, getting a heavy full size sheet onto that could be tricky. . Wonder how it might work out with foam board  to place on top.

  Two or three 2" x 4" across placed (and fastened)  in the provided holders might make it   more stabile and easier to place a heavy  sheet.

  I couldn't help notice that the folded sizes (at least the dimensions listed) would fit in a Systainer.  Though in the video it was not shown knocked down the 9" x 14"  size.

The quick set up and compact size  sure are tempting

That's Paypal hitting your credit card. PayPal really doesn't work for items available in the future, as I found out by using PayPal with Woodpecker's One-Time items.
