Centrotec Robertson Bits now available!!!! Thanks Atlas Machinery

I don't understand why the o-ring is so important?  It seems like a waste and adds to the cost.

Everything has it's purpose and place.

That's what I was inquiring about.

I remember Shane's response to the (green) o-ring question is that it is purely for product identification.

Correct, Ron.  So, maybe I am being ridiculously picky, but why the black o-rings on the Robertson Centrotec bits?  I just see it as an unnecessary addition and cost.  If I'm wrong, tell me.

What would actually be ideal in that case is if the Robertson ones had rings in the corresponding colour to their size, ie; green, red, black correspond with #1-2-3 sizes IIRC.

That is an awesome idea for the rings... A real purpose for them.  On our bits they are there as a true copy of the festool bits, I guess we just thought they had that figured out.  I always thought it had to do with dust protection to the inner centrotec chucks, although it never really touches.

I may steal this idea! Keep the feedback coming
Thanks

Just so everyone knows... You can obviously buy these bits online from myself, Dan or sean... They are also available at tegs tools in Hamilton Ontario and Pierre Berger in Montreal for those who are customers of those two dealers or prefer to shop locally.

So the following retailers are now stocking the bits:

Sean in new York (festoolproducts.com/the tool nut)
Dan in Vancouver bc (ultimate tool supply)
Myself in the greater Toronto area (atlas machinery)
Gabe at tegs tools in Hamilton Ontario
Michel in Montreal Quebec (outils Pierre Berger)

Thanks

Shawn,

I do like what you are doing.  In my opinion though, I don't see a need for the o-rings.  Even for the different sizes, they should still be easily distinguishable in tip size difference.  [2cents]

Thanks for taking this on and seeing it through!  [thumbs up]

Got mine yesterday (6/16)  via Canada Postal service.  Ordered on 6/6 not bad for international.

Thanks

All of the bits are stamped r1, 2, 3 no need for further colour coating but to each their own. Personally, i like em black, but i wouldn't care what colour they were either way.

Got my set fron Ultimate Tools in Vancouver last week. Thanks Dan for matching your US shipping price for those of us in Canada [big grin].   This is so long over due. Great work guys and thanks to Atlas Machinery!!!
