Let me know if this is good enough. I took it late last night - it has some depth of field issues.

Thanks, a lot better then the one on Atlas site.  [wink]

been using mine all week, so happy with them! good quality bits an they fit precisely with the centrotec system. If you use Robbie's a lot you'll want these!

Well I got them and I have now used them , they are great,
heck I no longer need to use the BHS 65 with collet for holding my bits for the pocket screws.

Its seems we waited a long time for them and it was well worth the wait to finally have them  [thumbs up]

Will it be possible to purchase only one size of the bits, or mix and match to get the six? I use mostly screws requiring a #2 tip, so several of those would be nice, while #1 & #3 are seldom used.

That question was already asked and answered. They said they will consider it for a future manufacturing run but not now. Apparently this was the only way to make all the sizes available at a feasible price from the manufacturer

Steve (Fatroman) and I placed an order together to split the shipping and I just got the bits.  They feel like they are made with high  quality steel.  We'll put them to use on Monday!

For the record, bits were ordered Tuesday afternoon and were received today, Saturday, in San Diego via airmail.

So, no big delays, if any, due to customs etc.

That was my impression too. The steel seemed to be quite hard which should hold up well unless it turns out to be brittle.

Okay, shipping is $15US including insurance.

That way the price is the same for Canadians and our US customers.

$35 gets you 6 high quality Robertson bits delivered to your door.

You can send Paypal to dan@ultimatetools.ca

Make sure we have your address in the request and we have to limit this to 2 packages per order cause we are very limited on inventory. Matter of fact, we are pretty much sold out.

Cheers
Dan
Hi Dan, Been away from this thread for awhile (thought it was dead) These bits are great news. I was just on your website though and shipping to Van Is is $20. Was there a deal last week that is now gone? 20 bucks is kind of pricey for shipping. I guess I'll wait until after the rush and get them the next time I am over on the ferry.

Received mine yesterday. Very nice looking bits (and dark!).

They fit nicely in one of the empty slots of the centrotec installers kit.

Are the #2's available separately or only as a set included with the other sizes?
Not yet Ron.  That's up to the powers that be over at Atlas.  AKA Shawn.  I'm sure he can chime in here.

Hmmmmm....

As of now I think we are going to do a new kit, however it is a month or so away, I will not give full details on the kit but it will be an interesting complimentary pack to the existing bits and also be R2 heavy.  Although the original starter kit will still be a better deal than any other kits we will have.... [wink]  Buy them now while they are at this introductory price.

Although for most applications I recognize that R2 is the most common driver bit, for cabinetry and fine finish work a lot of our customers use R1.  I have even be asked when we are going to do an R0.  Maybe in the USA there is a larger presence of R2 vs any other Robertson..... would this be true? I know the Kreg jigs use R2 and the beefy new jigs now use R3.

I would be curious to see the demand for R2 only on here (although it may be some time away), also any info on the supply of R2 vs R1 and R3 screws in the USA.  Love it that Robertson is spreading across the globe!

So, What type of demand is there for R2 only kits... those who would like them please say so and your application? Kreg? Cabinetry? Construction? General?

Thanks and looking forward to the responses.

In Electrical work the R1 and R2 fit most devices (switches, outlets, etc.) screws today. R1 and R2 bits would used a lot in short 1" to 6" in length.

Cheers,
Steve

Shawn, I bought 2 kits when in Toronto last week. I would definitely go for a 5 pack of R2's - Only a hobby guy but it seems R2 = 60% and about 20% each for the R1's and R3's

In the US R2 covers just about everything just like #2 Philips.  Pocket hole screws are R2.
