Like Untidy, I consider a detector like this essential for reclaimed wood. Really anything that not S4S.
Regarding the blades: I've tried most of them over the years and have found the best bang for the buck to be Freud's. They cut as well as the OEM blades from Leitz but cost half the price or even less. Don't seem to last as long , but again cost considered they are just fine. And who doesn't like that fresh new blade feeling we get when putting on a new blade.
