Total money invested so far is $2800 for cabinets for this 24' x 9' kitchen.  I started cutting fronts for the cabinets today, they will be slab front with stainless rod handles.  There are 26 drawers in the base cabinets and I have 2 tall pantrys with roll outs.  Everything is coming around and the granite tops will be installed Tuesday.

that looks soo peaceful in there! if the temp was right ill be in there all day working. are you using prefinished baltic birch panels?

@#Tee  The ply is a China UV Birch, I went with it for casework and had a better "B"  Maple grade for doors but the maple had a pink cast and didn't match colorwise.  Swapped it out for the Birch,  the birch was $30 cheaper per sheet.  Thanks for the comments guys !

awesome! looking forward to the paint finishing process. i think building cabinets is the highest skill level of carpentry.

Looks good John.
I am sure they appreciate your hard work on this.

How are you finishing the door/drawer edges?  I like the slab look  for it's clean lines and also you won't get junk stuck in the cracks like in a frame and panel design.  I hope to assist with a church bathroom project soon.

. I finished the edges with prefinished  edge banding, Heather.  This project was finished several weeks ago.  I'll try to post up some pictures Friday or Sat

Thanks Guys ! It was donated and I enjoyed doing it.  They probably wouldn't pay me any way as I am definitely  the Turtle Carpenter these days.

Yes, I find it rewarding as well to do projects at church, just haven't done anything yet of that scale.
