Both of my clamps stick when trying to release the "plunger".
I noticed there is an allan screw but it looked sealed.

Do I adjust these?

This is a well known issue. The metal is a tad too soft and gets marred when you engage it. I have about 200 little bumps on all of mine from use.

Not sure if anyone has found a good fix or not. I just bang them on the table and deal with it.

It is something that you get used to - it does not affect the clamping performance and so is not a big deal.

If the shaft metal were too hard then the clamp would not grip so well unless they went for a Bessey 6 surface notched system.

Got it !
Unscrew the $100 clamp and bang it on the table.

Mine sticks too it was a pain in the beginning but you do get use to it. Aside from the sticking their usefulness saves a lot of time overall.

Boy we sure expect absolute perfection ou of these tools...
Seriously thanks for this thread. Now when it happens I will have been warned...

I should have said this as well. Even though the can be a PITA when they stick, they are still worth every penny and then some.

Banging stuff to make it work better has been a "fix" for many eons.

(No dirty comments needed, they are already in my head)

:)

When my clamping elements were sticking, I took a file and lightly filed the edge of the rod to knock off the little gouge marks. Didn't file to hard but it seemed to work. Did this a few times and they still grab as they should when clamping. It worked for me.
