Clamping elements questions.

Do you guys know if the clamping elements have the same deal with the power tools that you can return them if you aren't happy?  Tried sending a PM to Bob M. but haven't heard from him yet.

thanks,
Rob

Probably not?

I thought that guarantee was limited to the tools, and the clamping elements are more likely considered an accessory...

  Rob,

Rob,

I see your PM now. Order a pair - if you have not done so already from another dealer. I am confident that you will find them useful enough to keep.
As to your question on accessory returns; they don't fall under Festool's 30 day Tool return policy, but are up to the individual dealer to decide. New, unused accessories are never an issue, it's used accessories you are referring to and again, that's up to the individual dealer.

You've had your answer to diameter.  Now a secret.  The Festool clamping elements can have their clamping pressure adjusted.  There is a metric set screw that can be adjusted.

Peter

Peter,

I see the set screw, and don't even know why it's there.

It just seems to be a standoff for the side of the bar that isn't attached to the eccetric cam.

How should it be adjusted, as the bar isn't touching it when it's engaged?

it looks like you would adjust it CCW so that it would start to bit a little earlier or adjust it in (CW) if it bites too soon

np problem Peter, I was curious and my clamps were just 20 feet away.

I figured if i could get up & look, I could sit back down and answer!  [laughing]
