I ordered a classic  4 latch systainer 4 from McFeeleys.  I was sent a T lock and told  classic ones were out of stock and "discontinued by manufacturer."  Is this true?  Does this mean the entire line of classic systainers is being replaced by T lock containers?

They're half-right. Festool has moved on to the T-locs, and doesn't/won't supply the classic ones once all the existing stock is gone.

But Festool are not themselves the manufacturer of the systainers - that honour goes to Tanos, a sister company of Festool. Tanos have not discontinued the older systainers - they supply both the 'classic' and T-loc ranges.

So if you have a lot of classics, and want to stick to that style, then you can buy the Tanos ones. Or, buy the Festool classics from those people who are selling them & converting to the T-locs. [smile]

If you don't want it, I  willing to trade an original systainer for the T lock you have  [big grin]

Just to confirm what was already stated, Festool will no longer be offering the classic line of Systainers. We have transitioned to the T-LOC version. Classic Systainers can still be purchased from several dealers who sell Tanos products, the manufacturer of Systainers and sister company of Festool.

i presume this is a worldwide stopping of the classic by festool.

does this mean that the current stocks are to be discounted in the same way that some tools are

Good Morning Gents,

I like to confirm that Festool will transit to the T-Loc systainer(r) but let's not forget that the T-Loc is only available in T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4 and T-5 for the mini, maxi and drawers systainer it is only available in the classic line. And this is for Festool and other OEM.
Every systainer(r) from classic to T-Loc is available from our distributors. You can check them on line.
If you need replacement parts or new latches Tanos dealers should also be able to help you.

if you have any question or like to talk to me! I am always available to help and answer any of your questions.

I the mean while Happy Sunday and Happy Father day!
