Clean a anti-static hose?

Recently the hose on the CT 22 in my workshop has started whisteling. This is very annoying and I assume it's caused by a wood chip or sliver being stuck inside the hose. Oddly enough however the nosel seems to have the ability to stop it. If left alone it whistles but when I pull the nosel in it stops. I assume that by doing this I stop the turbulence going onto the chip or something or it is being cause by the nosel, which would be even worse. Does anyone know how to clean out the hose? Has anyone else had this issue before? It is a 27mm hose.

Mine whistled from the first time I turned it on (just got it the other day).  I figured this was just from the incredible amount of suction going through the small hose.

broom handle

Sometimes a broom handle won't quite reach the centre. Personally, I use a length of 15mm copper. Cut 1/2" off the end with a pipe cutter, and that rounds over the edges nicely, to avoid damaging the inside of the hose.

what if you took the broom off the handle? then you could shake it through the hose.

I just had to clean an obstruction in a 27mm hose.  I just used a long scrap piece of koa I had recently cut and it did the job perfectly.  It was almost as long as the hose and smaller in diameter than a broom handle.  It was just handy at the time.  Glad I didn't cut it half for ease of storage...  My issue was not whistling but a reduced amount of flow.  First time I've had to do that in five or so years.

I think a broom handle is too thick, and often jams when it hits the obstruction (I tried that first).

If I think a hose is clogged, I go outside and swing it in a circle over my head. Usually, the centrifugal force will clear it.

If that doesn't work, I stick something in it and do the same thing. It usually works well. You just have to be careful you don't fling something through a window or car or person or dog...

I don't know what kind of arm you have that you can fling something through a person or a dog but I think you should start playing baseball.  ;)

Thanks everyone I got it sorted out. I found a long thick dowl and shoved it down the hose but that didn't help since it seemed clear. I read another topic earlier about nosels coming off the hose so I tried that and found that it had almost screwed completely off. I tightend it and now all is well.
