Hi.
I work with parquet, laminate floor ...
Is there much difference between these two vacuum cleaners? Is it worth buying the CTM?
I understand that the two are practically the same ...
Do the two models aspire equally well?
I do not know if it is worth spending more on the CTM if it aspires just like the CTL.
I will connect it to the Kapex 120 machine, to cut DM skirting boards.
I will also connect it to the TS55 machine, to cut the doors of the houses, but that is not much work.
In principle I will use it with the aspiration bag and maybe with time I will buy the cyclone from Festool.
I do not worry about the dust bag, I empty it and I clean it almost always.
To me the air outlet is good for me, since after cleaning and vacuuming the Kapex machine, there is always some dust left and in this way I throw a little air and that makes the machine much cleaner
I also thought about buying the CTL 26, but I suppose it has the same suction force and it does not have air outlet either ...
Thanks and regards.

Pretty sure the main difference is the CTM has a sensor and a warning signal for when the suction power goes down (e.g. when the bag gets full). This is why it complies with M class regulations, which are important if you work commercially on location.

There is no difference in suction or filtration, just the sensor as Sander explained.

But if you're a business in the EU, the CTM model is mandatory as far as I know.

I'm also pretty sure from recent research and help and advice here, that the only difference is the suction warning with the M rated machines.
I am UK based in the construction industry, and I've noticed that we've been getting more visits on the big sites from the Health & Safety dept, and a few times now dust extractors have been checked.

So, we needed two new machines, so in view of this and our applications and some helpful info and advice here, I chose the M rated machines. We opted for AC (Auto Clean) as well. We bought a CTM26 E AC 110 volt (for site) and a CTM26 E AC 240 volt for the workshop. Very pleased with them both.

Maybe if BREXIT ever finally happens, I need not of worried about the M rating but, for the time being our Europe saga says I should be using M rated on site, and more importantly my health. As the warning of suction drop will make sure the machine is running at it's best.

Not sure of the regs in Spain but, as Alex says, it is currently a requirement to use M rated, so If I were you, I would certainly go with the CTM. The Midi is a great machine btw, one of our older extractors is a Midi, and it's never missed a beat, despite constant every day use.
