Closeout Tools - Reduced Pricing Effective Immediately - US Only

Will either the MFT1080 or 800 connect to the MFT3 to produce a larger workbench?  I know they are not the same height so these will need to be raised.  But will the connectors slots allign?

You would only be able to use a connector on one side.  The width and length of the tables are different.  Trying to connect the MFT/3 to the second generation MFT is not an ideal scenario.  I would recommend going with all MFT/3's or all second generation MFTs if you're planning on combining them.  Other members may have additional feedback for you.

Jesus:

The T-slots used to connect the tables are different verticle distances from the tabletops.

It won't work at all.

Why is it that I see the RS 400 sander has a discontinued price of $161.50 but I've visited a few dealers websites and it is still priced at $205.00?  Can't I visit my local Festool dealer and buy the sander for the sale price or do I have to order one through my dealer and wait for it to be sent to me?

Tom, those websites are probably showing the RTS 400 rather than the RS 400.  The RS is the predecessor to the RTS.  Some dealers may have the RS 400 in stock but it's unlikely.  I suspect most customers will find that their dealer of choice will need to order discontinued items.  The basic difference between the RS and RTS is the counterweight was reshaped to provide slightly better balance and stability.  The discontinued tools still have a 3 year warranty.

Thanks Shane (and Bob), I did confuse the RS with the RTS.  I'm used to seeing (with most other companies) the older model discounted when the new model comes out - not a year or so later.  I'm surprised you still have the RS sanders still in stock.

Tom.

  Tom,

So I'm thinking of ordering a DS400 when another client pays. Hopefully next week. I'm thinking that it will go well with my ETS for onsite sanding. Are they any significant differences with the DS and the DTS? Or to make it complicated would the Deltex be better. I'm not leaning towards it.

Markus, same thing as with the RS/RTS, a modified counter balance to help improve balance and stability.  I'll let others weigh on the DTS/Deltex debate but with the Deltex you are getting a gear-driven action much like the Rotex in aggressive mode.  You are going to be able to remove more material quicker with the Deltex.

Thanks for the clarification Shane. I'll check out the Deltex but since I'm looking mostly at doing fine finishing I probably won't need the aggressive mode of a Deltex. Unless of course the more knowledgeable convince me otherwise. ;D

I had a question from a member about obtaining a hardware kit (angle unit, fence, rail, deflector) for their 1080.  If anyone is interested, the pricing on the hardware kits have been reduced to reflect the difference between the MFT non-basic and MFT basic pricing for the 800 and 1080 tables.  Here are the product numbers and prices.

MFT 1080 Hardware Kit, 494071, $103.50
MFT 800 Hardware Kit, 494070, $103.50

These products can be ordered from your preferred Festool dealer.

Shane,

I assume this discounted pricing for the MFT hardware kits is still in force, since the MFTs are still discontinued.  I tried to buy the MFT 1080 kit from an online retailer, but they're showing the original price.  How can I get the discounted price, and why aren't all Festool retailers showing the discount?  Thanks.

David, these items will remain discounted until we have no inventory remaining.  However, now that I think about it, dealers were made aware of the tool discounts but I believe that the MFT hardware kits were discounted afterward in direct response to questions here on the forum.  So, they may not be aware of the new pricing.  I will make sure that we communicate that to them.

My apologies that we didn't do a better job telling dealers about the hardware kit price change.  Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

does anybody have a link to an older (pre-mft3) catalogue?  I emailed Shane about accessories for the old style mft, but forgot to find out what was available originally.

I think some of these discontinued items were dropped fromm my website when I  had 2009's file updated. Sooooooooooooooooo, until I can get my web man to update my site, any of these items can be added to an order either by a phone call or placed in the "Comments" section on my web-site. Of course the price of all such items will be at the "discontinued" price.

That is a great price on the C12 set. Of course does that mean the new C15s are going to be here soon :)

Must say I'm really impressed with the good communication between company - customer, I only wish it was like this in Europe.

I don't suppose anybody would know if these tools are being discounted - discontinued this side of the pond as well ?

Thanks - Dan James..

As well as the C15, there is also a newer version of the C12 coming out; so the existing C12 will be discontinued. How much UK/European dealers will be able to discount will be up to Festool in the respective countries.
