CMS Dust Collection

Can someone tell me the length of the 36mm hose that comes with the CMS. Mine is 42" long end to end, seems short to me

Sal, in classes we set up and packed up CMS units several times. Although I had used them in Europe with the router insert, until a Doors and Drawers class in May 2011 I had never even seen anyone else set up a CMS. For that class we had both Steve Bace and Brian "The Sedge" Sedgeley as trainers.

My belief is the length of the 36mm hose was carefully designed for ideal collection and so it will stay out of the way. Think about it as similar to the Kapex, where most of us who constantly use our Kapex create a shorter than standard 36mm hose. For a Kapex 42" is too short, but just right for the CMS with OF router module.

I met "the Sedge" in Vegas at the pdca show last February. I got in a shuttle at the hotel. It was a minivan and he was stuffed in the way back. The dude taps me on the shoulder and says with a Maine accent, looking me right square in the eye: "I kicked you out of a bar on the ocean in Maine in about 1988." Very cool and talented dude. I could watch him Rotex to 12k grit all day long. Make shooting the breeze with the Sedge and Steve Bace a bucket list item.
