CMS Featherboards

One thing the CMS as a tablesaw doesn't have is a mitre slot. This is okay by me, but I really wish there was some kind of featherboard. I've never really used featherboards, and never even used a blade guard or splitter before the CMS, but as I'm getting older I'm getting more and more attached to my fingers.  ;D

Anyone out there retro'ed a 3rd party featherboard product or made their own? I don't mind photos posted of your non-CMS TS with featherboards of choice, board buddies, etc. Looking for ideas.

I'm thinking about getting one or two of these, and maybe one of these. I have the CS-50 LA fence, which has a t-slot in the top, so hoping I can kludge something together.

Eli,

Whereas we don't have the CMS yet, is it safe to assume that the fence and mounting plate are non magnetic?

Yep, everything is aluminum (aluminium). so the magswitch stuff isn't an option unfortunately.

While looking for something else I found this very old thread...here's a tip I got from Peter Parfit.
He showed me how to do it, I did it in a bit different method but the idea is the same.
You only need an extra angle thing, some T-track and a featherboard off course  [big grin]
