Here is the official statement:
"Warning: The Festool CMS System is approved for use with only the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers in the US and Canadian markets. It is not approved for use with the OF 2200, nor with any of the CMS modules currently available outside the US and Canadian markets (TS, Jigsaw and sanding modules). Festool USA does not endorse the use of these components and will not support them with spare parts or repairs. The use of anything other than the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers and their related accessories with the CMS will void the warranty agreement on the entire system for customers within the US and Canada. Festool does not endorse the application or use of any Festool product in any way other than in the manner described in the Festool Instruction Manual. To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual."
That being said, the CMS ships here in North America with the mounting hardware for the 1010, 1400, and 2200 just like it does elsewhere. There are many private users out there using the CMS with routers and other modules here in North America at their own risk in the privacy of their own shops and basements. It is commonly mentioned by Members here that they have heard that the issue is the switch, and that they were told that by someone at Festool. I totally believe that may be the case, but to the best of my knowledge Festool has not issued an official statement to that effect.
As a Festool user myself I don't have the 2200 nor any of the other modules but wish that in the future there is a way to expand the versatility of the CMS here in line with the rest of the world. I like my CMS as a router table, but increased versatility here would increase my usage and productivity as I would suggest it would do for others.
