CMS-GE with CMS-OF and OF2200

Mmmmm don't think standard mft joining bars will work. They use the slots in the mft and the cms ge doesn't have any just v grooves.

Thanks Nigel, I don't yet have an MFT/3 so wasn't sure. Though being the same height I don't see it as a huge problem.... unless one is working on a hillside. [eek]

Rob I hope you like your new toy - I agree it is great
I have had the OF2200 and CMS-OF for a couple of years now - mine is in an old-style Basis table rather than the CMS-GE but they are very similar. However I would be very interested to hear how you get on with yours. Mine has been OUTSTANDING in every respect - except for one - which is that when you leave the OF2200 in the inverted mode for a long time, dust gets in through the top and eventually stops the ratcheted mechanism for changing bits from working - it then requires you to take dark blue plate off the bottom with 4 screws and clean it all off - no great deal - but it confused me the first time. Festool UK know all about this and the backroom boys back in Germany are apparently working on a solution. However, once you understand the problem it is not too difficult to sort out
If you get into trouble in this respect feel free to PM me...
Best wishes and happy playing with your new toy
Mark

I'm sure you could work something out using the v grooves. Some kind of clamp arrangement, similar to the way the crown stops fit to the Kapex, only longer & with 2 clamping sections. One each side would hold them tight and level.

Yes,there's probably a way of some sort....

Can some one  suggest best way to make something?! Because 2moro is the day! This is because I need the core set and drill soon as possible  and because I am buying CMS-GE and CMS-OF and MFT3 I am gettin a very very  good price for the core set and drill.

I would like to know its not going to be two difficult to make something

Cheers

JMB,

I have an MFT and the MFT VL in my mid to long-term plans. I'd like them to be in my short term plans but the money isn't there. [sad] I want the add-on rather than the separate table, as that's better for me in my home workshop. Even if I was getting it for site work, I think I'd go for the same.

Just saying thanks to the people who tried and help me to decide between the VL / CMS-GB

I have gone for the

CMS-OF, MFT3 VLGB, and MFT3

I decided if I was to set up the router it will be set up because Ill be using it alot and not for a 2 second job and so I said to my self I could justify gettin it all out because like some one said above I properly have my MFT3 out most the time so its just the same then to get the VL out.

Cheers

Well my core drill and Diamond set is coming to moro morning. My dealer isnt really my local dealer hes 2 hours away so all my tools from him are posted. I dont like my local deal his a ******

Any way He said he will call me when he will get the VL in and then he will send the CMS-of and Mft3 with it. So properly a week I think well I hope! lol.

MFT and VL is a good set up either in a shop or on 2nd fix site. It takes no more room up than a couple of saw horses with 3x2 bearers If you use the Kapex UG extensions with it you can mould very long sections with it on site.

John

Fair enough you beat me 2 it lol!

You have it with the router setup facing away from the MFT3 table! Are you able to turn the setup around  (CMS-OF) so it faces the the MFT3 table so you have more support

JMB,

Ye the plate that holds the router can be turned around so that you can ust the MFT as support.

Dan.

You can also mount the VL on the front and back on the long sides this along with swapping the insert plate inboard and out board gives you scope to support large panels.

John,

I'm getting serious shop envy!

I must pop over some time & visit, so I can have a play!

Good luck with the new kit jmb, both the mft and cms are excellent tools.

Now, now, That's how the last of the war of roses started.... [poke]  [big grin]
