I am racking my brain going back and fourth between the CMS or just get a MFT W/ CMS attachment. I would love to have an MFT but i also really want a CMS. I am a Hobbiest DIYer that enjoys doing fine carpentry and would probably get both but my shop is very small and im already splurging for a router table. For the most part i do smaller stuff but there are times when I route longer boards (8-12ft) and pretty soon plan on routing multiple boards for a "shiplap" room im doing.

Your help is much appreciated, If i were to go with the MFT and CMS attachment is there any capability im sacrificing? Perhaps the extender wings?

In a small shop if you buy the VL model (2 legged) you must have the MFT/3 set up.  If you buy the GE model (4 legs) you can always get your MFT/3 out of the way or back it up to the MFT/3 depending on your space needs .  With the GE you can rearrange infeed or outfeed.  For versatility I went with the GE.

And if you have two MFTs, you can use one for infeed and one for outfeed with the CMS-GE in the middle.  Can't do that with the VL model.  If you were to make your own baseboards or crown moulding, the extra support goes a long way.
