Hi Garry! Was wondering if you knew the names or part numbers for the extension tables on the rip and crosscut?
Are they the, table VL and table VB CMS??? How do you rate the rip fence....???? Any extras you recommend???
I have the CMS with the TS55r insert in it. I would recommend the side table with the LA fence rather than just the basic fence and table. If you have a mft/3 or table of same height then no need for the right table addition-simply place the cmd next to it. Same with the out feed table. The LA fence is the extra optional fence, which whilst better than nothing isn't that great to get aligned with the blade perfectly, takes some attempts. Its a poor cousin to a real table saw beismeyer fence and the CMS saw table does not come with any feather boards to help with ripping. I was told by a festool rep that changing to the ripping blade helps here. I've just been lazy and used the standard blades whenever I've had a board to rip on it. It's a pain to flip out, change blades then re-insert just for one rip or two..then change back again for a cross cut...Perhaps a blade suitable for both may be better hre. I'm thinking of making my own feather board and looking at the Grr-ripper push blocks to get a safer saw as I don't like not having anything holding the stock against the fence all the way.
