CMS-VL + Incra 25" LS Positioner System & Wonder Fence?

I ended up getting the CMS-VL set, Incra 635mm LS Positioner System & Wonder Fence and the new Precision Plate. I was wondering if anyone placed anything under the fence to keep it from scratching the CMS? I was thinking about adding some felt. I will post some pictures soon.

I would not do felt as debris will get embedded in it.

UHMW tape if you are worried about it would be my suggestion.

My own fence has a very thin piece of clear plastic stuck to the underside to help with movement. Are there any clear 'stickers' in your pack?

I can see by the CMS-TS module that you've made the move to Europe [wink] [big grin]

I'm actually a little concerned with using the TS module because the riving knife is not in line with the blade. The knife itself is not bent and I made sure that it is installed correctly. I spent hours last night trying to figure it out to no avail. I'll post pictures of the issue tonight.

I am having trouble getting the LS Positioner square. Here are 2 pictures, but it is hard to see.

And here are a few pictures of the riving knife:

Loosen the precision plate screws that hold the positioner and push the positioner firmly at the dogs. There is some play possible to do this. Relighted screws. Done.

I will give that a try tonight.
[thanks]

That seemed to work. I'll keep an eye on it for a while to make sure that I can trust that it is square.

Now if I could get the riving knife issue straightened out I would be good to go. I have a roubo workbench that I need to build.

Thanks,

I haven't used the CMS-TS module myself (yet). Sure some of our European members can help.....

Mine has about 1.5~2.0mm of sideways play that just lines up and follows the blade when I use it (TS75). I was almost tempted to pack the slot initially, but thought it shouldn't be necessary and that seems to be the case.

Has the riving knife caused any issues while cutting?
Yes, I made a test cut and the material hit the riving knife, preventing me from being able to finish the cut. I'm not sure what I will do now, it looks like my only option is to try and bend the knife into alignment.

Yeah, that's dangerous!  Is the riving knife the TS riving knife or is it a part of the CMS module?

Are NAINA parts supported in NA if they were purchased where they were officially available?

The riving knife is different than the one that comes with the TS75, it came with the TS75 CMS module. When I have a chance I will play around with it some more to try and find a fix. I should have just bought a sawstop  [doh]

The CMS roving knife should have some play in it but shouldn't prohibit the workpiece from going through. I know others have said they noticed some slop in it, but I don't recall and issues that severe.

I am not sure that it is install correctly. How much side to side movement do you have?  Is the saw seated properly on the CMS plate?

I also owe you some UHMW tape mate... I headed out of town the week I PMd you and just got back Sunday. Sorry for the delay.

Cheers. Bryan.
