I recently ordered and received a new Festool blade for my T55 track saw.  The blade appears covered with an oily/protective residue when it arrived.  Do I need to remove that?  If so, what should I use?

Thank-you,

It's only on the blade to prevent rust forming between manufacturing, shipping and storage prior to being sold to the customer. Spray on some bit and blade cleaner to remove it and prevent sawdust build up mixing with oil on the blade and contaminating the wood you cut, if that would be an issue.

The other commenters are right. It's nothing to worry about. Something like Simple Green should do the job.
