Whenever I drain my compressor only some droplets come out and I find that strange so today I opened the drain valve and I tried tilting the compressor and brownish/orange water came out, the compressor is a stanley one bought it in November (its new). Is this normal, should I always have to tilt my compressor to drain the water?

Many of the portable compressors do not have the drain valve at lowest point in the tank.  If you have a larger compressor with horizontal tank, then make sure the tank is level.

Yeah my tank is horizontal I will try leveling it to see if that works, thank you, you think there is any reason to worry about rust yet since there has been water in the tank for some time?

I would not be too concerned at this point.  Depending upon local temperatures, that water might have accumulated in the past few weeks.

There is always some amount of surface rust that occurs on the inside of compressor tanks.  This surface rust is considered in the safety factors applied to pressure vessel design.

Thank you for the help

Best thing you could od is start blowing it down regularly.

You can buy a kit which will blow it down and every time the compressor runs
it will pop a solenoid open for a couple seconds and that will keep it drained.
